Article: Chapter 2 - spring has sprung

Chapter 2 - spring has sprung
I can’t believe it’s already the end of August and in a few days time, it will be Spring here in Australia. So I thought I’d dedicate this week’s blog post to pull together my top Spring jewellery picks, styled with the season’s best trends. I wish I had some florals to include here (because ground breaking, obviously!!!!). Will need to keep this in mind for next year’s spring collection.
So, let’s get to it.
While everyone is focused on building a capsule wardrobe of clothing, I think we should all be equally focussed on intentionally building our fine jewellery capsule. My strong view is that we should all be investing in good quality, real fine jewellery that is timeless, tasteful and versatile so that you can really make the most of it and see a return on your investment, because gold is ultimately an asset class (where are my cost-per-wear girlies to back me up here?!?!).
A capsule fine jewellery wardrobe will be your foundation for every day wear - it will take you from the office to a night out and I’ll show you how.
Starting with the basics - the tank top. And in particular the white tank top.
This has been seen on all the major runways this year and I’m sure everyone is glad to see it. There is so much opportunity here. The world is your oyster. And the best part is - it probably already exists in your wardrobe, and if not there are so many affordable options.
I don’t think you can go wrong pairing it with black trousers, heels and understated jewellery. I also think the jewellery really brings the look together (if I may say so myself). Very subtle, because keep in mind these are dainty jewellery pieces, but powerful. I’ve even done a side by side comparison of what this looks like with and without jewellery - the woman on the left is a powerhouse and looks put together at all times. The woman on the right - still beautiful, but looks like she threw on the first thing she saw and rushed out of the house (we still love you though!).

Coming in second is butter yellow. The colour of the season.
I love this colour palette for spring and summer. Chic, timeless and oozes summer vibes. And nothing pairs better with butter yellow than some beautiful yellow gold jewellery. Again, when you invest in some fine jewellery, you really don’t need much to make an outfit. Bella Hadid was recently spotted in this little yellow number so of course I had to include it here. PS - the dress is surprisingly affordable! As a side note - Bella Hadid has somehow managed to style this number as a strapless and it looked incredible!

And lastly, boho is back.
Nothing screams effortless quite like boho chic. It always reminds me of one of my closest high school friends (Celina - hiiiii and love you if you’re reading this) - while I was going through the terrible, ugly high school phases, she always looked so chic but effortless and I’m convinced it was because she frequently incorporated one or two boho elements in her outfits.
And while we all know that no one does boho quite like Chloe, it’s not exactly the most affordable.
I will also say, unless your entire personality is boho, I don’t think it's necessary (or advisable for that matter) to dress head to toe boho, because you simply won’t feel yourself and the pieces won’t work with anything else in your wardrobe. In my humble opinion, a piece or two that work within your existing wardrobe will see you through.

Full disclosure - the boho look was the HARDEST to style. And I'm still not happy with it - it might need some leather boots instead of the heel. Moral of the story is that I’m clearly not made for the boho life, as much as I wish I was!!!!
And that’s a wrap. I hope you enjoyed this mini styling post - I’d love to hear your thoughts!!
Until next time,
M xx
