When handling your gold and precious stone jewellery, it is imperative to do so with utmost care.

As a general rule of thumb, we recommend that you remove any jewellery that contains gemstones (especially natural diamonds)  before moisturising your skin. These substances can dull the sparkle of your gemstones and diminish the brilliance of your gold.

Handle each piece delicately, and refrain from unnecessary contact with hard surfaces to prevent scratching.

A gentle, regular cleaning routine is essential to maintain the radiance of your jewellery. To clean your pieces at home, create a mild solution of warm water and a few drops of a mild, phosphate-free dish soap. Soak your jewellery for a few minutes, gently scrubbing with a soft toothbrush to remove accumulated dirt. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a lint-free cloth to prevent water spots. 

Please note, pearls and opals should never be submerged in water. To clean pieces that contain pearls or opals at home, use a soft cloth to remove any build-up of dust and oils.

Proper storage is paramount to safeguard the longevity of your jewellery. When not wearing your jewellery, store them individually in soft pouches or lined jewellery boxes. This prevents pieces from oxidizing, tangling, scratching, or rubbing against each other, ensuring that they maintain their pristine condition over time.

Shield your jewellery from harsh chemicals and extreme conditions. Remove your pieces before engaging in activities such as swimming, exercising, or household chores, as exposure to chlorine, sweat, and cleaning agents may compromise the integrity of your jewellery. Additionally, shield your treasures from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent any potential damage.

Gold pieces that do not contain any gemstones or diamonds can be worn in the shower or the ocean, however we always recommend removing jewellery when swimming in a pool as the chlorine may cause damage.

Regular professional inspections are crucial to identify and address any potential issues promptly. Schedule periodic check-ups with us by contacting us, to ensure the settings are secure, gemstones are in place, and clasps are functioning optimally. This proactive approach can prevent the loss of stones or damage to delicate settings, preserving the longevity of your cherished pieces.

For gemstones, such as diamonds, emeralds, or sapphires, an additional level of care is necessary. Contact us once every year or two to inspect prongs in order to ensure the stones are securely set.
